Mina Vancardo graduated with a BA in Art and Art History from the University of Toronto. Immediately following her degree, she completed her Bachelor of Education and has been teaching Visual Arts with Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board since 2001.
Her passion in teaching art extended beyond assisting the young bustling artist. She found great pleasure in helping all students find the artist within, believing that everyone has a little artist inside, needing only the right artistic experiences. Over the years she has taken her students talents beyond the classroom and provided them with once in a life time experiences. Projects include permanent murals at the Courtneypark Library, Acorn Place Community, annual exhibits at the Beaux-Arts Gallery in Brampton for graduating students and a special installation at the Burlington Art Gallery. In addition to student based projects, Mina has organized a teacher group show titled "Practice What You Teach", exhibiting the works of fellow colleagues within Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
