Lost photographs, made precious once again.
About My Work
Story-Driven Mixed Media Collages That Emerge from Memory and Storytelling
My newest mixed‑media collages begin with an original photograph — found on long garage‑sale road trips, once precious to someone and then forgotten. My intention is to make them precious once again. Layered with reproductions, collage elements, acrylics, and cold wax, these images regain their presence and their weight. The use of cold wax creates a soft haze, mimicking the shifting, imperfect state of our memories. By working with photographs that once held deep meaning for someone, I aim to honour their moment in time — the people, the place, and the narrative captured within. Each fragment becomes a subtle memory prompt, inviting viewers to reflect on their own histories.
Tiny Narratives for the Imagination
Story-Driven Mixed Media Collages That Emerge from Intuition and Discovery
Blending the tactile tradition of collage with an instinctual painting practice, Mina’s mixed media artwork tells visual stories born from found materials and spontaneous creation.
Each piece begins with the quiet act of collecting—magazines, books, handwritten notes—then unfolds through intuitive cutting, arranging, and painting. The result is a one-of-a-kind narrative that invites the viewer into a world of layered meaning, playful surprises, and artistic exploration.
